Missouri Military Academy Hosts College Fair

To help cadets best prepare for their continued post-secondary education, MMA hosted a college fair at Mexico High School on Wednesday, October 9 from 8:30-11:00 a.m. Over 100 MMA juniors, seniors and post-graduate students were in attendance, joined by students from Mexico High School. 

Registration Open for Washington, D.C. and New York City Educational Tour

The Washington D.C. and New York educational tour will take place April 3-6, 2020, and will bring history to life for MMA cadets by giving them a firsthand look at some of the nation’s most important historic sites. The itinerary includes visits to see the Statue of Liberty, the 9/11 National Memorial, Smithsonian Museums and more.

MMA Color Guard Performs During St. Louis Cardinals Game

On September 28, 2019, the MMA Color Guard, over 70 MMA cadets and 15 MMA family members attended the St. Louis Cardinals game at Busch Stadium. At the game, the MMA Color Guard presented the flags during halftime, impressing over 42,000 baseball fans in attendance.

In 2018-19, the Colonels Rifle Team saw successes and growth as they developed in mental discipline and firing skill. This year, they look to advance even farther and revive a proud tradition of success that dates back to 1928 and the Academy's first national championship rifle team. 

Beijing Opera Visits MMA

Two Beijing Opera performers visited with a group of MMA cadets in September 2019 for a thrilling cultural exchange. The one-hour interactive performance centered around the history and traditions of the Beijing Opera, the most iconic genre of Chinese Opera, as professionals demonstrated through traditional singing, dancing and costume.

The following schedule is typically followed during the weekdays at MMA. The academic day is held at high value at MMA, so class time is rarely interrupted for special events. Please note: the schedule is subject to change depending on scheduled activities.

During Homecoming 2019 on Saturday, September 14, Missouri Military Academy honored former Academy President Col. Charles R. Stribling ’44 at the Col. Stribling Statue Dedication Ceremony.

Legacy Cadets Recognized at Alumni Awards and Donor Recognition Banquet

Legacy cadets are cadets who are sons, step-sons, brothers, grandsons, step-grandsons, or nephews of an MMA alum who completed at least one full year as an MMA cadet. At the ceremony, these cadets and their alumni family were recognized and awarded a legacy pin, symbolizing the family’s continued history at MMA.

Col. Stribling To Be Honored During Statue Dedication Ceremony

During Homecoming 2019 on Saturday, September 14 at 1 p.m., the MMA community will honor former Academy President Col. Charles R. Stribling ’44, who spent more than 75 years in dedicated service to MMA and its mission, at the Col. Stribling Statue Dedication Ceremony.

MMA Rifle Team Victories

Congrats to the MMA Rifle Team for its recent successes, most recently at the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit Sectional and the National Qualifier. Among contestants at the former, two of MMA's teams placed in the top five, and four of MMA's firers have qualified to compete at Camp Perry, Ohio, as part of a team at Nationals.

Lunch Buddy holiday party held December 14

Nearly 30 cadets and more than 20 elementary school students from the Mexico Public School system gathered December 14 in the MMA library for a Lunch Buddy holiday party.

MMA Alumnus Seeks to Spark STEM Career Interest for MMA Cadets through Engineering Summer Camp Sponsorship

Thanks to the efforts of Chris Schafer ’89, Missouri Military Academy alum and graduate of the Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T), rising junior and senior MMA cadets interested in the STEM field will have the opportunity to attend the Introduction to Engineering Summer Camp at Missouri S&T in summer 2019. Schafer has arranged for Missouri S&T to hold nine spots for MMA cadets (three in each of the camp’s weeks: June 9-13, June 23-27, July 7-11). In addition, he and his wife, Jeni, will sponsor two cadets for the camp through a financial donation to the Academy.

The MMA Raider Team has made the Academy proud with its successes so far this season. With five Raider competitions down, our Raider cadets will show what they’re made of in their last event of the season: the MMA Invitational in April.

Cadets Donate 8,000 Cans of Food to Local Charities

Cadets from Missouri Military Academy were filled with the spirit of giving this holiday season when they donated over 8,000 cans of food to the Mexico Help Center and ACCIS crisis intervention services Wednesday morning.

76th Annual Evensong to be December 21

The traditional festival of lessons and carols will be held at the United Methodist Church in Mexico at 7 p.m. This year's event is dedicated to the memory of Charles Stribling III '44.

Gov. Nixon, Sen. Danforth receive Hardin Medal

Missouri Governor Jay Nixon and Senator John Danforth receive the Governor Charles Henry Hardin Medal for Conspicuous Public Service to the State of Missouri and the Nation.

Missouri Military Academy Students Travel to Italy

Escorted by Missouri Military Academy staffers Rhonda Blaue, MAJ Edsel Baker and Dr. James Bonanno, seventeen students visited Italy in mid-March. The program, which was coordinated by Worldstrides International Discovery Programs, began March 13 with an overnight flight to Italy.
