At the Senior Ring Dinner on October 17, 2020, legacy cadets and their alumni family were recognized, and legacy cadets were awarded a legacy pin, symbolizing the family’s continued history at MMA.

This year, the Missouri Military Academy Colonels Football team ended the season with a 5-4 record, making them the first Colonels football team to achieve a winning season since 1985.
Missouri Military Academy (MMA) hosted the Missouri State Raiders Championship on Saturday, October 24, 2020. MMA’s Colonels Raiders team A took third place overall in the championship, finishing behind continual national champion contending teams from Leavenworth and Ozark High School. The Colonels also took 2nd overall in the 5K to be the state runners-up in the 5K.
At Missouri Military Academy (MMA), military reviews are reserved for special moments of the MMA experience – events such as Fall Family Weekend, Spring Family Weekend, Homecoming and Veterans Day. A proud component of military school life, reviews provide our cadets with visible proof of the structure, self-discipline and self-respect that students at other middle schools and high schools do not learn.
For Well Done Day on October 30, 2020, cadets enjoyed snacks and refreshments, and played board games, card games, athletic games and more with each other and faculty in the Centennial Gymtorium.

Character development is a key component of MMA's 360° Education for cadets, and the MMA Honor Code — “I will not lie, cheat or steal, nor tolerate those who do.” — sets the standard of character for cadets to follow. Providing peer reinforcement for the Honor Code, cadets participate on an Honor Council.

The Missouri Military Academy Rifle team has been qualified to compete in the JROTC Service Championships for the second consecutive year. The rifle team received the official invitation following their strong showing in the national qualifier postal.
MMA cadets raised $3,567.29 in donations for the Academy's 2019 canned food drive competition. The donations help three local organizations — the Grand Prairie Baptist Church, Faith Walk Food Pantry and the Help Center Inc. Food Pantry in Mexico, MO — support local families in need.
This year, our community raised $8,658 in immediate donations and $12,399 in additional pledges — for a total of $21,058 raised. That is more than 6 times the amount raised the previous Giving Tuesday
To help students maximize their ACT performance, MMA will host a Tutors Across America ACT Weekend Boot Camp on MMA’s campus in Mexico, Missouri, on January 24-26, 2020. The camp is open to the public, and MMA cadets are encouraged to attend

On November 21, 2019, a group of cadets visited the University of Missouri-Columbia for a classical music concert that featured works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Margaret Bonds. At the concert, the cadets witnessed the talents of MMA Music Instructor Freddie Lomas, and had the opportunity to meet with Conductor Dr. Paul Crabb.

On November 13, a group of interested cadets enjoyed a trip to Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri to enjoy a pizza dinner and a jazz concert by Pedrito Martinez Group, who is a part of the “We Always Swing” Jazz Series.

Celebrating the holidays through the voices of MMA cadets and faculty members, MMA's 78th Annual Evensong will be held at Mexico United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 7 at 6 p.m. Following the celebration, cadets and their families are invited back to MMA’s campus to enjoy holiday parties in each company’s recreation room.
On December 3, MMA will kick off the 2019-20 Annual Campaign — “Every Year, Every Cadet Stronger” — on Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving where millions pay it forward to support the causes that matter to them. Their third win in a row, Missouri Military Academy defeated Marion AJROTC 965 to 900 last week in the National Air Rifle League, bringing their current record to a strong 4 - 1. Next up, they will compete against Pelahatchie AJROTC from Pelahatchie, MS, who currently has a 3 - 3 record.
On Saturday, Nov. 9, Cadets Victor Patino and Ruhan Chowrira traveled to Moberly, Mo., to audition for district concert band competition, accompanied by MMA Fine Arts Department Chair Rob McGrath and Band Instructor Freddie Lomas.

Congrats to the MMA Rifle Team for its recent successes, most recently at the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit Sectional and the National Qualifier. Among contestants at the former, two of MMA's teams placed in the top five, and four of MMA's firers have qualified to compete at Camp Perry, Ohio, as part of a team at Nationals.

The Missouri Football Coaches Association (MFCA) has announced their All-District Picks for the 2018 season. Four Missouri Military Academy Colonel Football players received honors, as voted by MFCA members.
Thanks to the efforts of Chris Schafer ’89, Missouri Military Academy alum and graduate of the Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T), rising junior and senior MMA cadets interested in the STEM field will have the opportunity to attend the Introduction to Engineering Summer Camp at Missouri S&T in summer 2019. Schafer has arranged for Missouri S&T to hold nine spots for MMA cadets (three in each of the camp’s weeks: June 9-13, June 23-27, July 7-11). In addition, he and his wife, Jeni, will sponsor two cadets for the camp through a financial donation to the Academy.

The MMA Raider Team has made the Academy proud with its successes so far this season. With five Raider competitions down, our Raider cadets will show what they’re made of in their last event of the season: the MMA Invitational in April.

Escorted by Missouri Military Academy staffers Rhonda Blaue, MAJ Edsel Baker and Dr. James Bonanno, seventeen students visited Italy in mid-March. The program, which was coordinated by Worldstrides International Discovery Programs, began March 13 with an overnight flight to Italy.
