Cadet Trey Burle, a high school junior from Mexico, Missouri, led the record-setting effort, establishing new MMA marks in both the 100-meter butterfly and 100-meter breaststroke.

Trey finished the 100-meter butterfly in 58.72, breaking the previous Academy record of 59.97 set by Tiago Ruas Deluca in 2023. He later completed the 100-meter breaststroke in 1:09.40, improving on his own previous MMA record of 1:11.70 set last year.

Trey’s younger brother, Cadet Chase Burle, a high school freshman from Mexico, Missouri, added another significant achievement for the Colonels in the 400-meter freestyle. His first-place time of 4:46.12 earned a consideration time, surpassing the 4:53.59 standard by more than seven seconds. A consideration time puts a swimmer in contention to qualify for the state championship based on times recorded across the state, with final qualification determined after the regular season.
