The cadets opened the tournament with a dominant 6-1, 6-0 win over Rolla before facing eventual state champion Westminster Christian Academy in the second round. They bounced back with a hard-fought victory over Father Tolton, winning 7-6, 6-3, and later defeated Lebanon 6-4, 6-4 to secure 7th place in the state tournament.

Their only losses came to Westminster Christian Academy, who finished 1st, and Ladue Horton Watkins, who finished 5th in the state.

Coach Brad Smith praised the pair’s determination throughout the tournament.

“Their grit and unwillingness to give up in tough matches truly paid off," he said. "Even in the matches we lost, our cadets refused to go down without a fight and continuously took the game scores to deuce, making the opponents work for every point.”

Congratulations to Cadets Scribner and Reyes on an exceptional season and an incredible finish at the state tournament!
