Missouri Military Academy to Celebrate Spring Family Weekend 2026, April 16–19

Missouri Military Academy will welcome families to campus for Spring Family Weekend, April 16–19, 2026—an annual tradition that brings together cadets and their families for a weekend of connection, engagement and celebration, highlighting the important role families play in each cadet’s success at MMA.

Spring Family Weekend provides families with the opportunity for parent-teacher and parent-CLA conferences, as well as the opportunity to attend classes alongside their cadet, offering valuable insight into academic progress, leadership development and daily life at MMA.

Throughout the weekend, families can enjoy a variety of events and campus activities, including the Epple Memorial Art Show, athletic events, opportunities to connect with faculty and staff, and time to engage with the broader MMA community.

The festivities and cadet celebrations kick off on Thursday, April 16, at 7 p.m. with the Wallace Fry Speech Competition at Presser Performing Arts. Select MMA cadets participate in this annual contest by preparing speeches that utilize rhetorical devices taught during English Language Arts lessons. The entire MMA Corps of Cadets will attend and sit together as a corps. Family and friends are welcome to attend (free, no registration required).

Following parent conferences and time in the academic building with their cadets during the day, parents are invited to attend the Colonels baseball home game at 5 p.m. vs. Louisiana High School.

A central highlight of the weekend is Saturday's Passing Through Ceremony, where new cadets are formally recognized as members of the corps. In conjunction with the day's military review, Army JROTC Leadership Education Training awards and other select leadership awards, and leadership honors will be presented.

Saturday evening will feature the Maroon & Gold Prelude and Showcase, the Academy’s premier annual event and largest fundraiser, supporting cadet programs and institutional priorities.

Spring Family Weekend will also include an Admissions Open House, offering prospective families the chance to experience MMA firsthand and learn more about the Academy’s college preparatory program, leadership development and structured environment.

Families are encouraged to review the full weekend schedule for detailed event information (including check out details) and to plan their visit.
