Missouri Military Academy Names Samantha Krankka Assistant Academic Dean

Missouri Military Academy has named Samantha Krankka assistant academic dean, bringing extensive experience in classroom instruction, educational leadership and school administration to the Academy. Krankka joins MMA after serving as principal of a neighboring junior high school for the past three years.

In her new role, Krankka will support the Academy's academic program by working closely with faculty, cadets and families to foster academic excellence while advancing MMA's mission of developing young men through its military educational model. She will help oversee curriculum, academic support services and student success initiatives while reinforcing the Academy's high standards and commitment to structure, self-discipline, personal responsibility and accountability.

"Samantha brings a passion for education, strong leadership experience and a genuine commitment to helping young people succeed," said Missouri Military Academy President Brigadier General Richard V. Geraci, USA (Ret). "Her background as both a teacher and school administrator, combined with her student-centered approach and extensive experience utilizing academic assessments, will strengthen our academic program and enhance the 360° Education we provide our middle and high school cadets."

Krankka began her career teaching middle school and high school science while coaching several athletic teams, giving her experience mentoring students both inside and outside the classroom. She later transitioned into educational leadership and most recently served as principal of Ralls County R-II Junior High School, where she led the school for the past three years, focusing on student achievement, strengthening school culture and supporting teacher success.

"What drew me to MMA is its commitment to developing the whole person, not just through academics, but also through leadership, character and personal growth," Krankka said. "I am proud to be part of a team that challenges and encourages cadets to become the best version of themselves. I look forward to helping cadets grow into confident, responsible young men by providing the accountability, discipline, respect and support they need to succeed."

Krankka earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from William Woods University, a Master of Science in educational administration from Hannibal-LaGrange University and an Education Specialist degree in superintendency from Northwest Missouri State University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in K-12 leadership.

A native of the Mexico, Missouri, area, Krankka grew up just north of the community where she now lives with her family. She and her husband, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, have two sons. Outside of work, she enjoys fishing, hiking, golfing, working out and spending time outdoors with her family.
