MMA Faculty, Staff and CLAs Strengthen Rescue and Safety Skills Ahead of the 2026–27 School Year

While cadets enjoy their summer break, faculty, staff and Company Leadership Advisors (CLAs) at Missouri Military Academy (MMA) are preparing for the upcoming academic year through specialized safety and leadership training.

Academy personnel recently participated in annual training led by CMC Rescue, a nationally recognized organization that provides hands-on technical rescue and safety instruction for first responders across the United States. 

Academy personnel participate in annual rappel training as part of MMA's faculty and staff safety and leadership training. 

The training is designed to help equip Academy personnel with the knowledge and certifications needed to provide a safe environment for cadets when they return to campus.

As part of the week's activities, MMA EMT-paramedic Graeme Goodwin led instruction for the American Heart Association's Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course and Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course. The academy is working toward certifying all faculty, staff and CLAs in first aid, CPR and AED response.

In addition to first aid certification, CLAs completed rappel, rifle and paintball training, while faculty and staff completed emergency preparedness and CPR/AED certification appropriate to their responsibilities.

This training reinforces MMA's commitment to maintaining a safe, prepared campus by ensuring personnel are equipped to respond effectively to medical emergencies, rescue situations and critical incidents.
