Cadets Jared Douthit and Kai Passmore Receive Richard White Library Award

Cadet Kai Passmore, an eighth grader from Stuart, Florida, and Cadet Jared Douthit, a junior from Broomfield, Colorado, were recently awarded the Richard White Library Award for their outstanding conduct and knowledge relating to library operations.

To earn the Richard White Library Award, cadets must:

  • be frequent users of the library
  • return books on time and in good condition
  • know how to find a book
  • know the checkout system
  • help other cadets in the library
  • respect the rules of conduct for the library

Previously called the Library Ribbon Award, the Richard White Library Award was renamed in honor of alumnus Richard White ’47. Mr. White has donated over $250,000 in support of MMA, making improvements in Barnard Hall Library and the Bravo Barracks; provided funds for technology, entertainment, rec room activities and middle school programs; and contributing to the Olympic-sized swimming pool now used by MMA's swim team. He has also donated decorative eagle figurines, currently on display in the Barnard Hall Conference Room.
