Peggy Reynard Named Educator of the Year by Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce

Missouri Military Academy’s Peggy Reynard has been selected as Mexico area’s 2020 Educator of the Year.

This prestigious honor bestowed by Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce is a testament to Reynard's devotion to education and highest regard for MMA cadets in and outside the classroom.

“Peggy Reynard is the consummate educational professional and a credit to the teaching profession,” MMA President Brig. Gen. Richard Geraci wrote in Reynard's nomination letter. “Her selfless dedication to our cadets, collaboration with her fellow faculty members, and ability to adapt to the many changes in education and technology over the years is simply outstanding and an inspiration for all of us.”

Beginning her career at MMA in August 1996, Reynard is one of the longest-tenured instructors at the Academy. During her time at MMA, she has taught keyboarding, accounting, international business, business law, global business studies, pre-algebra, algebra and geometry. She also served as the business department chair from 1996 until 2020.

An accomplished pianist, Reynard began accompanying the choir during choir class and at the weekly vespers service in the school chapel, all-school assemblies and graduation ceremonies in 2000. She has also accompanied solo performances for band and choir competitions.

Reynard currently teaches business law, global business studies, international business and accounting and is the chair of the Faculty Rules, Procedures and Handbooks Committee. She also oversees the audit and inventory of learning resources and has led MMA’s Future Business Leaders of America chapter since 2005.

"Teaching at MMA has been a pleasure and honor for me," says Reynard. "God has blessed me through this position as I have been able to be involved in music as well as teach business and math subjects. What a wonderful life!"
