MMA Hall of Fame: Oscar Uribe ’92

Oscar Uribe followed in his brother Hector’s footsteps from México City to Missouri Military Academy. In his four years at MMA, Oscar honed his leadership skills as Charlie Company commander, Fusileers commander, Color Guard commander and tri-captain of the Colonels cross-country, swimming and golf teams. He graduated with the rank of cadet captain in 1992.

In México, Oscar leads an award-winning architectural studio designing unique projects that celebrate Méxican culture. For these accomplishments and all of his accolades, he is inducted into the 2024 MMA Alumni Hall of Fame for Arts and Science.

Oscar earned a degree in architecture from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City in 1997. He then joined Urquin Real Estate Developments as a partner with his father and brother. Together they developed more than 16 housing projects with a market value of more than $160 million. In 2012, Oscar founded Uribe Architectural Studio as a collaborative space to promote creative development and elevate the human experience. The studio’s designs use local materials and traditional artisan craftsmanship with an emphasis on Méxican culture. In the past dozen years, the studio has designed more than 120 projects in México, specializing in high-end residential, boutique hotels and multifamily housing projects. Oscar has been featured in Architectural Digest México and Forbes Lifestyle and several studio projects were published in the book Arquitectos Mexicanos, highlighting the most relevant projects in the luxury residential field in México. Uribe studio has garnered honors from Americas Property Awards, International Property Awards, Luxury Lifestyle Awards, German Design Awards and Architectural Master Prize.

In the aftermath of the 2017 earthquake that hit Mexico City, Uribe Architectural Studio provided construction equipment to remove obstacles and search for people under building debris. The studio also offered pro bono designs to low-income families who could not afford to hire an architect to redesign their homes. The company hosts two high school student interns each year, showing them what it is like to work as an architect. It is our honor to recognize Oscar’s accomplishments with his induction into the MMA Hall of Fame.
