A championship season for MMA Colonels Soccer, claiming the district title!
A message from Coach Liam Collins ...
The MMA soccer team had a great season. The guys showed a lot of ability and skill, but most importantly, they showed a lot of heart, grit, and determination in their performances. They made the coaching staff and the school very proud of their performances.
We finished with a record of 15-8 and also claimed the district championship for the first time since 2015. We started off the season with an impressive second place finish at the Fort Zumwalt Classic Tournament in St. Louis, MO and followed that up with another second place finish at the Viking Showdown Tournament in Springfield, MO.
There are too many good wins to list them all, but I want to highlight two in particular. Firstly, the senior night win versus Battle High School was especially impressive and memorable. We really gave our seniors a lifelong memory with a very emotional win.
Secondly, the district final win versus Moberly High School, at Moberly High School, was extra special. All the boys' hard work throughout the entire season culminated in a fantastic performance and victory to claim the district title.
This year's team set the bar high for future MMA teams, and the future looks bright for soccer at the Academy.
