MMA Hall of Fame: Jeff MacLellan ’66

Jeff MacLellan arrived at Missouri Military Academy in 1962 as a 14-year-old freshman. He excelled as a cadet, serving as president of Delta Phi honor society and captain of the Colonels baseball team. He also competed in football, basketball and rifle team, and was a member of M Club. He commanded the state champion Fusileers drill team and was named to the Legion of Honor. In his senior year, Jeff led the corps of cadets as battalion commander. A leader in banking and business, Jeff is best known for his longtime role as CEO of Landmark Bank. For his accomplishments, he is inducted into the 2022 MMA Hall of Fame for Business, Entrepreneurship and Leadership.

After graduation from MMA, Jeff earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from Southern Methodist University and then was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Air Force. Discharged in 1973, he built a successful banking career in Texas before moving to Missouri in 1987 as the new president of First National Bank. He spent 22 years at the helm in Columbia, overseeing the consolidation of First National and two other banks into Landmark Bank with 36 locations in Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas. He retired as CEO and chairman in late 2009.

Jeff has served on the MMA Board of Trustees since 2003, offering his financial and management expertise. He also gives his time to several local organizations such as Rotary, Kiwanis and the Chamber of Commerce. It is our honor this year to recognize his accomplishments with his induction into the MMA Hall of Fame.

Missouri Military Academy chaplain stands near pews in Memorial Chapel

Captain Clifford Latting, USA (Ret), was named Missouri Military Academy chaplain in December 2024. Latting is currently pursuing a Master of Applied Theology and plans to complete a Master of Divinity at Midwestern Seminary. He has participated in ministry mission trips to Chiang Mai, Thailand; Myanmar (Burma) and Chiapas, Mexico.
