MMA Color Guard Performs During St. Louis Cardinals Game

On September 28, 2019, the MMA Color Guard, over 70 MMA cadets and 15 MMA family members attended the St. Louis Cardinals game at Busch Stadium. At the game, the MMA Color Guard presented the flags during halftime, impressing over 42,000 baseball fans in attendance.

“They did a phenomenal job,” Deputy Commandant and Director of Activities Rick Dehlinger said. “It’s a lot of pressure to go out and perform in front of that many people, but they did it with great discipline and form. I’m proud to say they represented MMA very well.”

Thanks to Dehlinger, who contacted the Cardinals team and arranged MMA’s involvement, this year marks the second consecutive year the MMA Color Guard has had the honor of performing.

“My goal is to give the Color Guard every opportunity to perform that I can,” Dehlinger said. “Plus, this is always a great opportunity for other cadets to relax and have fun with their brothers off-campus.”

The members of the Color Guard from left to right are Michael Naughton from Maryland Heights, Missouri; Chia-Wei Hsu from Taipei, Taiwan; Garry Siccardi from Fort Smith, Arkansas; Commander Ruby Kagaragwa from Kampala, Uganda; and William Lockwood from Chesterfield, Missouri.
