MMA Coaching Staff Members Attend InSideOut Initiative Training

Three members of Missouri Military Academy’s athletic leadership and coaching team recently completed InSideOut Initiative (ISOI) training at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. MMA athletic director Brian Meny, activities specialist and head varsity soccer coach Elliot Goodwin and head track coach and physical education teacher Traevonne Smith attended the training, which is designed to help focus and promote the educational purpose of athletics in high school communities. ISOI equips coaches and educators to prioritize the social, emotional and character development of student athletes over simply winning a game.

Since its founding, the ISOI has partnered with 20 NFL markets across 17 states – including the Kansas City Chiefs – in working with school communities to create change in interscholastic athletics across the country.

Meny, Goodwin and Smith will share the insight gained through the ISOI training with the rest of the middle school and high school coaching staff at MMA to support the Academy’s mission to help young men take command of their lives and become gentlemen of character.
