Sponsored by the members of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Congressional Art Competition is a nationwide high school art competition intended to recognize and encourage artistic talent and scholarship in students. Kioko competed against high school students from Missouri’s 4th Congressional District. Winning artworks are selected by expert art professionals and hung in the U.S. Capitol and congresspersons’ district offices.

MMA art teacher Cheryl Morris accompanied Cadets Roy Kioko and Carlos Villarreal (below), a 9th grader from Santa Catarina, México, who also competed, to the awards presentation.

MMA is proud to recognize and congratulate Cadet Kioko on this achievement. Thank you to Congresswoman Hartzler for supporting the arts and education.
