On October 8, 2022, Missouri Military Academy Boy Scouts/cadets attended the Boy Scouts of America Great Rivers Council's Mizzou Merit Badge University. At the event, cadets had the opportunity to gain merit badges, many of which are required to earn the Eagle Scout rank.

The following MMA cadets, accompanied by MMA Troop 1889 Scoutmaster Rob Silbaugh, attended the event:

  • Blake Mills from Arkansas City, KS
  • Malachi Imrie from Wildwood, MO
  • Henry Scribner from Springfield, MO
  • Kamil Sanchez De Ovando Pérez from Mexico City, Mexico
  • Trae Griffifths from Champaign, IL
  • Mason Brooks from Henrietta, TX
  • Jet Rodewald from Brentwood, TN
  • Jacob Pehle from Lake Saint Louis, MO.

The cadets participated in various merit badge classes, including the following:

  • Emergency Preparedness (taught by Mr. Silbaugh)
  • American Business
  • Music
  • Salesmanship
  • Chess
  • Railroading
  • Plumbing
  • Citizenship in the Nation.

MMA cadets are invited to join the Academy’s BSA Troop 1889 (named in honor of the year of MMA’s founding) for fun and challenging experiences that will enhance their positive character development and leadership skills. MMA’s unique environment – both campus and culture – provides the optimal structure, consistency and opportunities to advance as a Scout, while enhancing the MMA brotherhood experience.
