MMA 2021 District Wrestling Tournament

On February 13, Missouri Military Academy (MMA) Colonels fielded a team of eight wrestlers at the 2020-21 MSHSAA District Wrestling Tournament held in Palmyra, Missouri.  Of those eight, seven have earned All-District Honors and will continue on to the sectional tournament on February 27. Those successful at sectionals will move on to compete at the state tournament in March.  

At the district tournament, three MMA cadets made it into the finals. Of note, senior Christopher Bryant remains undefeated for the season with a tournament championship win.  

The following Colonels will move on to sectionals and earn All-District Honors: 

  • 113 weight class: Landon Kjolhede2-2, 4th place. Current record 17-7. 

  • 145 weight class: Brett Miles 2-2, 4th place. Current record 7-9. 

  • 152 weight class: Gabriel Canonico 2-1, 2nd place. Current record 17-5. 

  • 182 weight class: Christopher Bryant 3-0, 1st place. Current record 20-0. 

  • 195 weight class: Phasakorn Cunningham 3-1, 3rd place. Current record 18-6. 

  • 220 weight class: Noah Johnson 2-2, 4th place. Current record 17-5. 

  • 285 weight class: Pedro Garduno 2-1 2nd place. Current record 10-4. 

Cadet William Cash, wrestling at the 138 pound weight class and going 1-2 on the day, placed fifth.

Missouri Military Academy COL Tom Pickle

Colonel Tom Pickle, USA (Ret), has joined the staff of Missouri Military Academy (MMA) as the deputy commandant for residential life. Pickle comes to the private, college preparatory, all-boys military boarding school after a 32-year career in the United States Army. Throughout his career, he has exhibited exceptional leadership, planning, program management, and talent management, making significant contributions to the military.

MMA Future Business Leaders Attend 2024 State Conference

Competitors from the Missouri Military Academy Future Business Leaders of America chapter joined attendees from nearly 400 chapters at the Missouri State Leadership Conference on April 14-16, 2024, in Springfield. Eleven MMA cadets qualified to compete at state during the district competition held in February. The MMA Color Guard presented the colors in front of more than 5,000 high school students at Great Southern Bank Arena.
