New MMA Cadets Visit Fort Leonard Wood for "Meet Your Army" Event

Missouri Military Academy took all new cadets to Fort Leonard Wood to participate in the "Meet Your Army" event on Saturday, August 13. 

The cadets were assigned into five groups and escorted by an active drill sergeant who took them to numerous exhibits and live displays. 

The displays included:

  • Transportation vehicles (Transportation Corps)
  • A Stryker fighting vehicle (MP Corps)
  • A tactical rescue display (engineers)
  • Mine-resistant vehicles and ROVs capable of interrogating and detonating bombs (Explosive Ordinance Disposal)
  • A lineman's pole installation vehicle (Prime Power Production)

After the exhibitions, the cadets ate an at active dining facility for trainees of FLW and then toured active barracks. During the tour, cadets got to observe several units in training with active basic trainees.

 Active Shooter Training

Educators and other professionals from approximately 15 safety, security and emergency response organizations and schools from Audrain County and across the state gathered at Missouri Military Academy on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022, to take part in active shooter and intruder response training, hosted by the Academy and conducted by South Western Communications.
