The 136th Missouri Military Academy (MMA) Corps of Cadets, under the leadership of Cadet Battalion Commander Mason Brooks ’25, successfully completed the 2025 Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) Program of Accreditation (JPA) inspection on May 2.
While U.S. Army Cadet Command mandates the inspection every three years, MMA voluntarily participates in the JPA annually. This commitment to continuous evaluation reinforces the Academy’s high standards and dedication to developing disciplined, responsible leaders.
“The annual JPA inspection ensures that the Academy meets the standards for Army JROTC and upholds our military educational model’s emphasis on structure, self-discipline, personal responsibility and accountability,” said MMA President Brigadier General Richard V. Geraci, USA (Ret). “These values help cadets reach their full potential.”
Conducted by the University of Missouri’s ROTC Program, the annual inspection involves a thorough assessment of MMA’s JROTC program, including the Academy’s Continuous Improvement Plan and the Service Learning Project, which were reviewed during the 3rd Brigade staff-assisted visit in January 2025. Cadets were also tested on JROTC knowledge appropriate to their Leadership Education Training (LET) level, and their uniforms and barracks rooms were closely inspected.
MMA alumnus Gage Blanton '23 (center) returned to campus with the University of Missouri ROTC 3rd Brigade to conduct the JPA inspection. Blanton is attending MU on a ROTC scholarship.
The day concluded with a drill team demonstration. Final results recognized Band Company with first place honors, followed by Bravo Company in second, Charlie Company in third and Echo Company in fourth.
The inspection served as a strong demonstration of the MMA Corps of Cadets’ commitment to excellence across all areas of evaluation.
