The Missouri Military Academy Corps of Cadets, faculty and staff gathered on front campus on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, to remember and honor Mr. William D. “Bill” Chrismer. Bill was a valued member of the Academy for 34 years. He passed away on April 10, 2023. Click to watch video of the service.

During his tenure at the Academy, he served cadets as a night accountability control officer, company leadership advisor, driver, and assistant commandant.

"Bill was a great role model for our cadets, having a positive impact on thousands of cadets," said MMA President Brigadier General Richard V. Geraci, USA (Ret). "No matter what the task, we could always count on Bill, and so could the cadets. It will be difficult to replace him."

His experience with cadets was respected by colleagues, and he was often sought out for recommendations involving the health, welfare, and safety of cadets. He also served as a camp counselor for MMA's summer camps.

President Geraci directed that, for the rest of the day at Missouri Military Academy, the Academy flag be flown at half-mast in honor of Mr. Chrismer's service to MMA.
