On September 18, 2021, Gilberto Crombe, Class of 1989, was inducted into the Missouri Military Academy (MMA) Hall of Fame for Business, Entrepreneurship and Leadership at the Alumni Recognition and Donor Awards Banquet during homecoming. The honor recognizes his expertise and significant accomplishments in business; as well as his character, in that he acts as a visionary who serves as a coach, mentor and developer for those who follow in his footsteps.
While a member of the MMA Corps of Cadets during his high school years, Crombe took full advantage of the leadership opportunities available to him. He served in the capacities of cadet captain and Delta Company Commander, as well as captain of the soccer and track teams. He was also an active member of the Fusileers and International Color Guard.
After graduating from MMA, Crombe continued his education at the Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios de Monterrey (ITESM), then established his first company in Mexico in 1992 – only three years after graduating from MMA. He later developed his skills as a strategist and motivator at Harvard Business School, the MIT Entrepreneur Program, and the Leadership Academy in Washington D. C.
Ultimately, Crombe went on to establish 12 companies in eight different countries, primarily in the United States and Latin America. He became a member of Entrepreneurs Organization (EO) in 1999, an influential community of global entrepreneurs; and in 2008 he became the EO regional director in Latin America. Five years later, he joined the global board of directors, making him the organization’s first Latin-American global chairman.
Crombe is also founder and CEO of “Re-Group,” a firm with presence in more than 15 countries, focused in America, South Asia and the Middle East. Re-Group offers the design of business strategy and execution plans through re-observation and re-designing, always being inclusive.
Additionally, Crombe has been a guest speaker more than 80 times in more than 25 countries, sharing his expertise and knowledge with those who desire it all around the world. A few of his appearances have included high-profile forums such as: the G20 in Mexico City and Rio de Janeiro, Jeddah Economic Forum, Guatemala Construction Chamber, Babson College and several symposiums at ITESM and Udem.
For his extensive business and entrepreneurial accomplishments, as well as his dedication to mentoring others with a focus on strategic thinking, global citizenship and sustainable leadership, Crombe has been selected for induction into the 2021 MMA Hall of Fame.
