For years, Martinson has exemplified the best of MMA—selfless, loyal, and deeply committed to the success of cadets and fellow alumni. He has devoted many hours to strengthening connections across the Alumni Brotherhood and mentoring graduating cadets. Earlier this year, he helped recent graduate Malachi Imrie secure an internship in Texas.

Martinson’s passion for preserving MMA’s legacy is equally notable. He has located and safeguarded historical materials that might otherwise have been lost, ensuring future generations understand the Academy’s traditions. He also played a key role in building communication systems for the Alumni Association Board of Directors, supporting consistent outreach and collaboration across the alumni community.

In recognition of this service and leadership, Martinson received the 2025 Harold “Chris” Schafer Fellowship Cup—an annual honor presented to the alumnus who distinguishes himself as the year’s Most Valuable Person in his role on the Alumni Association Board of Directors. The recipient is selected by the MMA Development Office and reflects the Academy’s founding ideals of character, leadership, and service.

Established in 2019, the Schafer Fellowship Cup is named for Harold “Chris” Schafer, Class of 1989, the first recipient. As an alumnus, former Alumni Association officer, and faculty member, Schafer set the standard for dedication to MMA through mentorship, generosity, and brotherhood. The award continues to recognize alumni who follow his example of selfless commitment to the MMA family.

Missouri Military Academy extends sincere congratulations to Eric Martinson ’96 for his exemplary leadership and lasting contributions to the Academy and its Alumni Brotherhood.
