Cadet Michael Emminger ’28 Selected for Missouri S&T Summer Camp Scholarship

MMA Cadet Michael Emminger ’28 from Mexico, Missouri, is the 2026 recipient of the Missouri S&T Jackling Institute: Introduction to Engineering Camp scholarship. He will attend the summer camp May 31 to June 4, 2026, on campus at Missouri S&T. The scholarship pays for everything except transportation. The cadet was selected for the scholarship due to his academic achievements, curiosity and interest in the STEM field.

At Missouri S&T’s oldest and largest summer camp, Emminger will be introduced to a variety of engineering fields and participate in engaging demonstrations and hands-on activities.

He will have the opportunity to learn about engineering disciplines from leaders in the field while studying alongside his peers from across the nation. Through interactive workshops, aerospace testing and problem-solving, exploration of state-of-the-art engineering materials breakthroughs, department visits, student competitions and more, he will gain practical engineering experience and learn more about what engineers do, the tools they use and how their work affects everyday life.

Emminger will have the opportunity to visit five academic engineering departments in the following fields: aerospace engineering, architectural engineering, ceramic engineering, chemical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, engineering management, environmental engineering, geological engineering, geology and geophysics, mechanical engineering, metallurgical engineering, mining/explosives engineering, nuclear engineering and petroleum engineering.
