MMA Names Elizabeth Clement Assistant Academic Dean

Missouri Military Academy (MMA) has named Elizabeth “Ranae” Clement as assistant dean for instruction and learning. Clement, an English instructor who joined the faculty of the private, college-preparatory, all-male boarding school last fall, assumed her new duties at the end of May. She replaces Dr. Dale Land as the Academy’s assistant academic dean.

Clement has 17 years of experience in secondary education, teaching in Ralls County (Missouri) and Hillsborough County schools (Florida). She also served as principal of Ralls County summer school for two years. She holds a Master of Education degree in secondary administration from William Woods University and bachelor’s degrees in business marketing and secondary education from Hannibal-LaGrange University.

“Ranae has a proven track record of effective, relational teaching, as well as an enthusiasm for educational best practice, especially in the area of data-driven instruction,” says MMA President Brigadier General Richard V. Geraci, USA (Ret). “She will be a great addition to the academic leadership team, and her knowledge and experience will directly and positively impact our cadets’ learning experience.”

In her first year at the Academy, Clement has worked to create and grow cadets’ confidence and skills through individualized instruction and monitored improvement standards. “I am happy to be at MMA because of its well-rounded emphasis on a cadet’s life,” she says. “The curriculum goes beyond academics and focuses on character, social development and leadership training, which creates empowered young men.”
