Missouri Military Academy (MMA) hosted an elective course fair on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, in Barnard Hall atrium. Middle school and high school cadets explored a diverse range of elective courses, helping them to make informed decisions about their academic paths for the upcoming term.
Faculty members and instructors were present to discuss course offerings, answer questions and showcase the skills and knowledge cadets could gain from each elective. The fair aimed to expand cadets’ educational horizons beyond core subjects and introduce them to specialized areas of study that align with their interests and aspirations.
Cadets explored a wide selection of elective courses, including:
- Hart Career Center programs
- Performing Arts (in partnership with Presser Arts Center): Acting, Oral Interpretations
- STEM Courses: Project Lead the Way – Robotics, Project Lead the Way – Engineering
- Life Skills
- Music & Arts: Music Production, Music Appreciation, Guitar, Piano, Private Music Lessons, Jazz Band, Drum Line, Choir
- Literature & Humanities: History in Hollywood, Creative Writing, Literature of War, Studies in Shakespeare, Dystopian Literature, Literature of Film, Mythology
- Visual & Technical Arts: Sewing/Advanced Art
- Technology & Security: Cybersecurity
- Military & History: Marksmanship, Military History
The fair served as a valuable resource for cadets to align their elective choices with their personal interests and career aspirations. By engaging in these elective courses, cadets gain hands-on experience, creative expression and practical skills.
