MMA Alumnus David Weiss '12 Shares COVID-19 Experiences In California

MMA Alumnus David Weiss '12 is a respiratory therapist working in Walnut Creek, California. A COVID-19 hotspot, Walnut Creek is approximately 45 minutes from Santa Clara county, which has diagnosed more than 1,000 patients, and only 30 minutes from San Francisco, which has diagnosed more than 450 patients.

In this interview with KXEO, Weiss describes what it is like working in healthcare during a pandemic, what his role is at the hospital treating COVID-19 patients, and how Missouri Military Academy helped prepare him for this crisis.

"I would have to say that the discipline and the structure [at MMA] made me more cool, calm and collected in high emergent situations," Weiss said. "I have always been analytical and MMA helped me become more detail oriented."

MMA is proud to count Weiss among our heroic alumni. He, and all other medical professionals, who risk their health in service of their communities have our praise, respect and gratitude.
