Missouri Military Academy Color Guard Recognized by White House Medical Unit

Missouri Military Academy’s Color Guard received national recognition following its presentation of the colors during the 2026 Missouri Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Leadership Conference Opening Ceremony at the Great Southern Bank Arena in Springfield, Mo.

In a letter dated April 24, 2026, Army Staff Sgt. Cameron W. Yeager of the White House Medical Unit commended the MMA Color Guard for its professionalism, discipline and precision during the event.

“The dedication, discipline, and hard work that your students poured into their preparation were clearly evident during the presentation of colors,” Yeager wrote. “Their professionalism and precision was the true highlight of our opening session.”

The letter also recognized the significant commitment required of the cadets outside regular school hours and thanked the team for its exceptional contribution to the ceremony. Each cadet received a White House challenge coin from SSG Yeager, along with the letter. Traditionally used throughout the military, challenge coins are presented to honor outstanding service and dedication while serving as lasting symbols of pride, unity and shared experience.

Yeager also recognized MMA business instructor and FBLA advisor MAJ Peggy Reynard for her leadership and guidance of the color guard at the event.

The recognition reflects Missouri Military Academy’s emphasis on leadership, discipline and excellence through its JROTC and leadership development programs. Opportunities such as ceremonial presentations allow cadets to represent MMA with professionalism while developing confidence, accountability and teamwork.
