Colonels Track Athletes Set New MMA Records in State Championship Competition

Two Colonels track cadet-athletes earned the right to compete at the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) state track and field championship for Class 2, District 3, on May 20 and 21, 2022, in Jefferson City, Missouri. Both cadets broke MMA records while competing at state.

Competing in the 110-meter hurdles, Cadet Gabriel Canonico, an 11th grader from Falls City, Nebraska, broke the record with his time of 17.54 and finished in the top 15 in state.

Cadet Bryson Powell, an 11th grader from Brighton, Colorado, competed in the 1600m run. He ran a personal best of 4:33 which broke his own MMA record. He was only two spots outside being all-state, finishing 10th overall.

Boy Scouts Archery Merit Badge Class

Missouri Military Academy (MMA) hosted its annual Boy Scouts of America Merit Badge University March 24-26, 2023. Approximately 300 Scouts, leaders and family members from Missouri, Texas, Iowa, Arkansas and Illinois attended the Great Rivers Council Spring Breakout event at MMA’s Mexico, Missouri campus.

A Leader of Integrity, Service and Dedication: MMA Honors Col. Charles R. Stribling III

On March 29 each academic year, Missouri Military Academy honors and remembers Colonel Charles R. Stribling III, MMA Class of 1944. Col. Stribling served as an MMA instructor, coach, alumni director, commandant of cadets, vice president and executive officer until, eventually, be became president of the Academy – a position he held for 25 years. Under his guidance, MMA was designated an Exemplary Private School by the U.S. Department of Education.
