In his acceptance remarks, President Geraci stated it was a great honor for the Academy to receive this award, thanked the Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce for its support of local businesses and professionals, and emphasized his support of the Chamber's Leadership Mexico program which he participated in himself.

The Academy was chosen for the Excellence in Business Award for its hard work and leadership demonstrated by staying open throughout the COVID pandemic with uninterrupted middle and high school classes and multiple summer camps. The award also recognizes the positive economic impact that the Academy has upon the Mexico community.

"The dedication of MMA faculty and staff and the support of our cadets' families enabled the Academy to provide in-person education and care for our corps during the past 18+ months and to continue to positively impact the local economy," said Geraci. "MMA is fortunate to have strong relationships with the Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce; organizations and businesses who directly support cadets, including our local churches and medical facilities and clinics; and the many local businesses and restaurants. Working together, we collectively achieve greater success."

The Academy was eligible to receive the award after having received a Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce Excellence in Business award earlier this year, an award presented quarterly to an outstanding business in the local community.
