Cadet Anthony Melick Named to 2023 Academic All-American Team

As an outstanding athlete who excels in the classroom, recent Missouri Military Academy graduate Cadet Anthony Melick from Overland Park, Kansas, has been chosen by the National High School Coaches Association as a member the 2023 Academic All-American Team. Cadet Melick was also recently appointed to the United States Naval Academy, where he will attend this fall. 

The NHSCA honors the best student-athletes in the country, representing 22 sports. NHSCA received a number of applicants, and the selection process was extremely competitive. With strong athletic and academic skills, Cadet Melick was selected for the honor.  

While at MMA, Cadet Melick held the cadet leadership position of Band Company commander for the 134^th MMA Corps of Cadets. He was involved in baseball, swimming, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and band. During his senior year, he has served as the captain of the swim team and competed at state competition. During his junior year, he earned a trip to national FBLA competition in Chicago, competing in Sports and Entertainment Management, part of the team who finished first at state.

On May 20, 2023, Cadet Melick graduated from the Academy, where he addressed the Class of 2023 as valedictorian.

Cadet Melick graduated as a member of the Delta Phi Honor Society and the National Honor Society.
