Fallen MMA Alumnus to Be Recognized During NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600

Missouri Military Academy alumnus Spc. Christopher Horton '03 from Collinsville, Oklahoma, will be honored during the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway as part of a Memorial Day weekend tribute recognizing fallen service members. Races will stream on Amazon Prime.

Kaulig Racing announced that Horton’s name, along with Sgt. Zainah “Caye” Creamer, will appear on its NASCAR Cup Series cars during the race. Both service members were killed in Afghanistan in 2011 while serving their country.

The Coca-Cola 600’s Memorial Day weekend tributes are among NASCAR’s most visible traditions honoring America’s fallen service members. Horton’s name appearing on a Cup Series car serves as a lasting reminder of his sacrifice and legacy.

Horton attended Missouri Military Academy for six years and distinguished himself as a cadet leader. He earned honor roll recognition and the Academic Fourragère, served as 2nd Platoon leader during his senior year and captained the rifle team.

After graduating from MMA, Horton enlisted in the Oklahoma Army National Guard in 2008.
