Important Upcoming Dates

Easter Weekend

  • Parents may pick their cadets up beginning at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 14 from Centennial Gymtorium (NOT at company offices). Please see below for additional check-out instructions.*
  • Cadets must return to campus no later than 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 17. Please drop your cadet off at Centennial Gymtorium.* Commandant staff will be available at the gym to receive cadets beginning at 12 noon on Sunday, April 17.
  • If you require an earlier drop-off time on Sunday, please contact Major Roberts at 573-473-6402 or Gunnery Sergeant Tompkins at 573-253-1443.

Wallace Fry Speech Competition

  • Wednesday, May 4 at 7:00 PM in Centennial Gymtorium
  • The Wallace Fry Speech Competition is an annual public speaking competition which hones and highlights cadets’ oratory skills.
  • Cadets are judged by a panel of qualified local professionals, and a winner is selected based on their delivery and demonstration of rhetorical devices learned during English Language Arts lessons.

Mother's Day Review

  • On the morning of Sunday, May 8, MMA will transport cadets to and from their regularly scheduled religious services. Families may join their cadets at those local religious services.
  • The 2021-22 MMA Corps of Cadets will conduct the final review of the year on Sunday, May 8 at 1:30 p.m.
  • This event will be recorded and shared on our YouTube Channel.
  • Families may check their cadets out for the afternoon immediately following the review. Please check your cadet out with his Senior CLA.**
  • Cadets must return to campus no later than 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 8.

Spring Sports Assembly

  • Wednesday, May 18 at 6:30 PM in Memorial Chapel (livestreamed on MMA’s YouTube Channel)
  • High school and middle school cadets participating in spring sports will be honored.
  • Families are invited to attend. Ice cream social in Barnard Hall will follow.

Final Academy Assembly 

  • Friday, May 20 at 10:15 a.m. in Centennial Gymtorium (livestreamed on MMA’s YouTube Channel)
  • For middle school and high school. Includes 8th grade promotion ceremony.

Senior Baccalaureate

  • Friday, May 20 at 5:00 PM in Memorial Chapel
  • This non-denominational ceremony is for gratitude and reflection as we celebrate the Class of 2022. Seniors and their families are invited to attend; participation is optional.

Senior Banquet

  • Friday, May 20 at 6:00 PM in Centennial Gymtorium (livestreamed on MMA’s YouTube Channel)
  • At the banquet, cadets will hear from Academy leadership and the MMA Alumni Association, watch a senior video, make toasts, receive awards, and more.
  • All senior cadets are required to attend the Senior Banquet. Seniors unable to attend commencement will receive their diplomas.
  • This event is limited to seniors and their families only.

Commencement Ceremony

  • Saturday, May 21 at 10:00 AM in Centennial Gymtorium (livestreamed on MMA’s YouTube Channel)
  • The commencement ceremony will begin with a procession of the graduates and the presentation of colors by the Color Guard. The senior class will present their class gift, and awards and diplomas will be presented. Closing commencement, cadets will sing "Old MMA" and the benediction will be delivered.
  • Graduates will exit to Front Campus for Final Formation.
  • This event is open to the public.

Final Formation

  • Saturday, May 21, following commencement on Front Campus (livestreamed on MMA’s YouTube Channel)
  • Final Formation is held in the front of MMA's campus as one last nod to the graduating class. Cadets assemble in a military review fashion, and under the direction of cadet leadership, seniors raise their sabers and plunge them into the ground, placing their hats on top of the saber.
  • Cadets who will be catching flights home will load a chartered bus for transportation to St Louis International at 1 p.m.
  • Cadets may depart with families immediately following Final Formation.** Belongings will be picked up from Centennial Gymtorium.

*Check-out and check-in directions for an open weekend (such as Easter Weekend)

  • Cadets (along with luggage and prescription medications) may be picked up at Centennial Gymtorium for check-out.
  • Cadets will not be allowed to check out from their company office.
  • Directional signage will be in place along Grand Avenue and Pollack Road for guardians to follow when arriving to campus. (See campus map.)
  • Guardians must present valid identification when picking up their cadet.
  • Cadets will not be allowed to depart campus via Uber or taxi service. 
  • Cadets will only be allowed to depart campus with a host family if MMA has written request and approval from their immediate guardians and the host guardians.
  • Cadets returning to MMA by vehicle must be dropped off, screened, and checked in at Centennial Gymtorium by MMA staff. Please review your cadet's belongings before leaving home to check for any unauthorized contraband.
  • If your cadet is returning to campus late, past the scheduled return time, please call the company office to ensure MMA staff is aware. MMA staff will then provide drop-off instructions for the late check-in. 

**If a cadet is departing after a scheduled review or Final Formation, he will be allowed to leave campus after checking out with his Senior Company Leadership Advisor.
