Gap Year Education

Missouri Military Academy offers a postgraduate gap year for recent high school graduates who want to refine their study skills, better prepare themselves for a successful college career, and maximize their college acceptance opportunities.

Young men can especially benefit from a post-graduate year prior to entering college! The program follows MMA’s structured military traditions while offering the opportunity to earn college credit. Gap year students are members of the corps of cadets who complete all new recruit training and participate in our physical training and or band programs on a daily basis.

The academic curriculum can be tailored to individual needs, whether that is

  • retaking an upper-level high school course
  • completing required remedial college course credit
  • earning up to 15 college credits in a year
  • ACT and SAT preparation
  • college placement assistance

Musicians will also have the opportunity to study music, significantly sharpen their musical skills and participate in the Fighting Colonels marching band.

For international students, an ESL camp and course will help students who hope to attend college in the U.S.

Post-Grad Application

Complete the application for fall enrollment and indicate postgraduate courses. Final high school transcripts and recommendations will be required. International students will be required to submit a TOEFL exam score and may be required to attend the ESL camp for an additional fee.
