At Missouri Military Academy, music and fine arts are integral parts of our well-rounded student experience. Cadets develop skills that allow their creative confidence to soar while helping them experience and understand the world around them.
Cadets enjoy …
Music and fine arts students will share their talents both inside and outside of the MMA community, whether that’s through the annual Evensong and Festival of the Arts events, featuring students’ vocal, musical and artistic talents on the MMA campus, or national-scale events, such as the MMA Fighting Colonels Band performance in Oahu, Hawaii, as part of the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
The MMA band lives together and operates as Band Company, with a cadet drum major and company commander leading their peers under the direction of our director of music, WO2 Freddie Lomas, who came to MMA after retiring from a career as a bandmaster with the Royal Marines Band Service.
Per MMA tradition, our fine arts and music programs are grounded in discipline, while allowing ample space for talents to mature and community to develop. Through self-expression, our students find a place to grow, engage and belong.
