Watch our buzzer-beater win over the Elsberry Indians!

Missouri Military Academy Colonels Basketball teams have had a long history of distinguishing themselves on and off the court.  Last year's team finished with a 9-9 record and a first round loss in the MSHSAA Class 3 District Tournament.

Returning several letter winners with a wide array of experience, this year's Colonel's find themselves with high hopes and expectations.  Sprinkle in some surprise newcomers and this year's Colonel team could go farther into the state playoffs than any other team in MMA history.

It won't be an easy task by any stretch of the imagination as the Colonels will face a variety of schools providing stiff competition from all corners of the state.  All in an effort to prepare the 2018-19 Colonel's for a run at the Missouri State High Championships in late March.

Meet the Coaches:

Mr. David Mahurin, Head Varsity Basketball Coach

David Mahurin was born in Fairbanks, Alaska where his father was serving in the army. He spent most of youth in Indiana and later attended Marian College in Indianapolis. Mahurin has had an extensive educational career spanning 30 years as both a teacher and school administrator. He has also coached many sports, with 27 years’ experience as a varsity basketball coach. Mahurin and his wife, Pattie, enjoy traveling in their free time, and they are the proud parents of three young adults and grandparents of four children

Mr. Art Bradshaw, Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach:

Coach Bradshaw is a Mexico, MO native who played his high school ball locally at Mexico High School.  Bradshaw was the fundamental leader of teams between 1981-84 that were very successful across the state.  With four deep runs into the MSHSAA state playoff system during this time frame, Bradshaw was instrumental in helping to rebuild a Mexico program that was desperately in need of repair.  Bradshaw has been involved in the game as either a player or a coach for over thirty years and brings a wealth of knowledge to the Colonel's team this year.
