MAJ Lawrence McClarey, USA, Retired

Biography:

Major Lawrence McClarey was born in St. John’s Newfoundland, Canada, and was raised in Paris, Illinois. He attended the University of Illinois on an Army ROTC scholarship. McClarey served for twelve years on active duty with the US Army as an Armor/Cavalry officer. He has been teaching for the last twenty-four years in both public and private schools. After arriving at MMA over 18 years ago, McClarey has served as an Economics/Government instructor and as the Social Studies Department Chair. In addition to teaching, he has coached track, cross-country, wrestling, and strength and conditioning. In his free time, McClarey enjoys reading, lifting weights, and spending time with his family. He and his wife, Joanna live in Mexico and have one son, Patrick.
