Sergeant First Class (SFC) John D. Biddle enlisted in the United States Army Delayed Entry Program in November 1983 as an Infantry Soldier with the Airborne Ranger option. He shipped in February 1984 to attend Basic Training and Advanced Infantry training at Fort Benning, GA. Biddle's previous assignments include Company C, 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment at Fort Benning, GA, 101st Pathfinder Detachment at Fort Campbell, KY, Detailed Recruiter with San Diego North Recruiting Company, Santa Ana Recruiting Battalion at Escondido, CA, Special Forces Recruiting Company at Fort Lewis, WA, Kansas City Recruiting Battalion at Grandview, MO, and 5th Medical Recruiting Battalion, Overland Park, KS. Throughout his career, he has continued to further his military education and training.

Biddle completed Basic Airborne School, Jumpmaster School, Ranger School, Pathfinder School, Air Assault School, Rappel Master School, Primary Leadership Development Course (now called Warrior Leader Course), Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, Basic Recruiter Course, Army Recruiting Station Commander Course, and the Army Medical Department Recruiter Course.

Biddle’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, with 2 oak leaf clusters; Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, with 3 oak leaf clusters; Good Conduct Medals, 8th award; National Defense Ribbon with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster; Southwest Asia Service Medal with Bronze service stars; Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia); Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait); Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; NCO Professional Development Ribbon, with numeral 3; Army Service Ribbon; Superior Unit Award with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster; Ranger Tab; Senior Parachutist Badge; Master Parachutist Badge; Pathfinder Badge; Air Assault Badge; Expert Infantry Badge; Combat Infantry Badge; US Army Basic Recruiter Badge – Gold; and Egyptian Parachutist Badge.

Biddle has a son, Weston, and daughter, Megan. Weston served in the US Army as an Airborne Military Policeman at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and deployed to Iraq for Operation Enduring Freedom. He now works as a store assistant manager for QuikTrip. Megan currently works for Sports Clips as a hair stylist and recruiter in Lee's Summit, MO.
