Our international students are active participants in our athletic and fine arts offerings, and in the daily activities at the academy, student leadership and sports teams. Missouri Military Academy has welcomed students from China, Guatemala, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Mongolia, Saudi Arabia, Spain and Switzerland among other countries.
The dedicated members of our Admissions Office assist our international students through the admission process, student visa applications, and safeguards passports and travel documents whenever school is in session. Each admissions staff member is responsible for keeping parents informed of each student’s progress and their activities.
The English as a Second Language (ESL) program at Missouri Military Academy has been designed to meet the needs of our international students based upon the student’s English speaking, reading and writing capabilities. Each student is expected to gain college acceptance at the completion of our high school program and our ESL program is a crucial part of that process. This program is included in the international tuition and fees.
Missouri Military Academy offers a 21 day, international student English as a Second Language Orientation and Camp in August prior to the beginning of school to provide an opportunity for new international students to become accustomed to their new surroundings at Missouri Military Academy. This program allows our faculty and staff time to assess each student's English skills and to determine their academic course selections. Daily study sessions with well-defined learning expectations create the environment and structure that ensures a positive educational experience for each student. This ensures that all students are able to gain the rewards of a 360 Degree Education.
International students must submit scores from any one of the following: TOEFL; SLEP; TOEFL, Junior; iBT, or IELTS as part of the admissions process.
