Horseback riding has many positive benefits, including improving balance, motor coordination, hand-eye coordination and core strength. Studies have also shown it be beneficial to children’s learning ability, as it improves their sympathetic nervous system. Over time, it also improve self-confidence and self-assurance.
MMA’s Equestrian Camp will teach students more than how to ride a horse – although students will enjoy daily trail rides through MMA’s beautiful 288-acre campus. They will learn several different horsemanship techniques, including saddling, mounting, walking and galloping, and other important horse management skills, such as safety, handling and horse maintenance.
Students are required to wear appropriate attire, including closed toed shoes and long pants every day. If a student would like to extend their time, accommodations can be made on an as-needed basis for an additional charge.
This camp is a week-long, half-day program, open to both boys and girls.
