All MMA Graduates Obtain College Acceptance
Every year 100% of our seniors are accepted to at least one college or university and earn an impressive amount of college scholarships.
This is because academics and college preparation are top priorities at Missouri Military Academy. Our college placement office begins by asking cadets “Where would you like to attend college?” as early as the eighth grade. Our staff personally guide every cadet through the college selection and application process. This is possible because of our impressive student-faculty ratio. Studies have shown that smaller class sizes have a direct influence on the academic performance and social behavior of students and this is a priority at MMA.
Every senior who graduates from Missouri Military Academy is accepted to at least one college. Occasionally, graduates choose military or other careers immediately after graduation from the Academy.
Professional, Personal Attention
The college preparation, application and selection process can be overwhelming for students and their parents. Our full-time Director of College Placement, keeps abreast of current academic trends in colleges and universities, providing invaluable personal guidance to students and parents. Missouri Military Academy’s College Placement Program begins at a student’s freshman and sophomore year when students are introduced to the concept and importance of a college education. As students become juniors and seniors, they receive individualized attention from the Director of College Placement during the college search and application process.
Seniors are assisted in seeking college scholarships, which results in great success: to date, the class of 2018 earned over $6.5 million in merit scholarships, with additional financial aid awarded to those in need.
Missouri Military Academy high school incorporates ACT and SAT preparation as part of the course outline for Mathematics and English classes. This constant reinforcement affords students the opportunity to be better equipped for the ACT and SAT. Missouri Military Academy is a test site for the PSAT, PLAN, SAT, ACT and TOEFL exams, which provides another convenience to cadets and their families.
Exposure to Colleges and Universities
College and university representatives recruit on the Missouri Military Academy campus, and the junior and senior classes will attend college fairs, giving cadets a first-hand look at large and small, public and private institutions. This exposure gives them some ideas about which type of school will best meet their needs after graduation from the Missouri Military Academy.
College Admission Agreements
MMA has formed articulation agreements with colleges and universities, which means graduates have a fast-track to acceptance to three excellent programs - Norwich University
in Northfield, Vermont; Westminster College
in Fulton, Missouri; and New Mexico Military Institute
in Roswell, New Mexico. Cadets must fulfill requirements to qualify for acceptance. The Director of College Placement
has additional information on these articulation agreements.
Service Academy Nominations
Cadets at Missouri Military Academy, as members of an Honor JROTC Unit With Distinction, gain advantages in their applications to earn appointments to the U.S. Service Academies - the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, the U.S. Air Force Academy and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. The Director of College Placement, the Senior Army Instructor and the President of Missouri Military Academy work with qualified cadets who are seeking nominations to the United States Service Academies.
