Baseball is BACK!
Baseball was one of the first three athletic programs, along with football and track, established at MMA in 1892. Above, MMA baseball team, 1909 is pictured in it's inaugural year.  The Colonels have had a long string of strong baseball players who have gone on to prominence on the diamond after high school.
The Fighting Colonels will play a schedule against schools very similar in school size to ourselves.  Blayne Murphy is the Head Baseball Coach for the 2019 season and he is very excited at the prospects he has worked with thus far this year.
The Missouri Military Academy boasts one of the only indoor practice facilities large enough to keep multiple indoor batting cage nets and pitching mounds up all year long.  If you pair that with the fact that no other school in the state can offer long-toss throwing indoors all year long then you can definitely agree that if you're serious about baseball and improving your game then MMA is the place to be.
Our wonderful Alumni and Boosters are so excite about the return of the Colonel Baseball program, that donations have been received to help rejuvenate our outdoor baseball stadium at Brad Calvert Field.  Soon to come are new dugouts, back stops, grandstands and press box.  Baseball is not only America's past time, but it's also a favorite for the alumni and fans of the MMA Maroon and Gold.
Game times this spring will vary upon the opponent, and we encourage you to come and support your son.  Gates open 30 minutes prior to first pitch with concession stand and restrooms on site.  Admission is only $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students.  We look forward to seeing you at the ballpark!

Blayne Murphy Missouri Military AcademyMr. Blayne Murphy, Head Varsity Baseball Coach

Originally from Lake Ozark, Missouri, Coach Murphy began his post-secondary education and athletic career at Longview Community College in Lee’s Summit on a baseball scholarship, majoring in general studies. He then transferred to Williams Baptist College in Northeast Arkansas to finish his undergraduate work and collegiate playing career, graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Education.

After spending three years teaching and coaching at the high school level, Murphy pursued a dream of coaching at the collegiate level and was hired as the associate head baseball coach at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas. Murphy and his wife Kendra moved back to Missouri when he accepted a role as the executive assistant baseball coach and recruiting coordinator at Hannibal LaGrange University.
