At Missouri Military Academy (MMA), the approach to education extends far beyond traditional academics. Cadets are delving into a curriculum that covers a spectrum of practical life skills. From basic household tasks to financial literacy, the Life Skills class offers a comprehensive toolkit for navigating the complexities of adulthood. With the incorporation of guest speakers, the class adds depth and real-world insight to the cadets' learning experience.

Missouri Military Academy Cadet Battalion Commander Bradley Thumbi receives NROTC scholarship

Missouri Military Academy Cadet Bradley Thumbi ’24, from Overland Park, Kansas, has been awarded the prestigious NROTC scholarship, which is worth $180,000. Since joining MMA in September 2020, Cadet Thumbi has been actively engaged in a diverse array of activities, including football, soccer, Fusileers, Color Guard, track, Boy Scouts, the dual-credit Triumph Program and the Lunch Buddy program. He holds the esteemed position of Battalion Commander and serves as the Fusileer Color Guard Commander.

MMA Welcomes New Chief Financial Officer

Jennifer Yelton has joined the staff of Missouri Military Academy as the chief financial officer. Yelton comes to the private, college preparatory, all-boys military boarding school from Westminster College in Fulton, where she has served as associate vice president for business and controller since 2017.

Leadership Mexico 2024 stands on steps of Stribling Hall

On Tuesday, March 19, the 2024 Leadership Mexico class visited Missouri Military Academy as part of their mission to learn about top Mexico, Missouri employers and organizations. A Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce program, Leadership Mexico provides personal development and an avenue for community participation for its members.

MMA Leadership Attends Association of American Colleges and Schools of the United States 2024 Conference

Missouri Military Academy President Brigadier General Richard V. Geraci, USA (Ret); Board of Trustees members Chris Gentry, MMA Class of 1988; and Jim Obenshain, MMA Class of 1986; and four members of the MMA leadership team recently attended the annual conference of the Association of Military Colleges and Schools of the United States (AMCSUS). Held February 18-21, 2024, in Alexandria, Virginia, the conference brought together heads of school, deans, commandants, chief financial officers, marketing and admissions representatives, and other key staff members from 36 military schools and colleges in the United States and Canada.

President Geraci Selected as Association of Military Colleges and Schools of the United States Executive Committee President

Missouri Military Academy President Brigadier General Richard V. Geraci, USA (Ret) has been selected as the 2024-25 president of the Association of Military Colleges and Schools of the United States (AMCSUS) executive committee. In this role, President Geraci is responsible for setting the Association’s priorities for the upcoming year. He leads the 9-member Executive Committee’s efforts to support the Association’s member colleges and schools and the 20,000 cadets they represent.

Missouri Military Academy Deputy Commandants

From teaching important values to coordinating transportation, from keeping cadets safe to ensuring they are correctly equipped and looking sharp, MMA’s deputy commandants — Deputy Commandant for Support and Quartermaster James Poettker, MMA Class of 2008, and Deputy Commandant for Transportation and Security Jeff Howard — go the extra mile to ensure that cadets are well taken care of.

The whole core of what MMA stands for is still there, even after the ups and downs of 130 years. I believe in what they are doing.
