, held June 4-5 at the Homewood Hearth Hotel in Laredo, Texas was attended by several area alums from the 80s and 90s. Guests traveled from as far as Monterrey, Mexico to attend.
The rally, organized by Paul Petit ’82 started Friday night with fellowship, food and maybe a little drink. Rumor has it that the first night ended somewhere around 3 am.
On day two, some brave souls led by Paul and Pedro Portilla played golf in spite of a heat index of 115 degrees F. Later that evening, the group gathered at the hotel for some more fellowship, food and yes, some drink. After a presentation by Major General Flanagan, the group enjoyed a buffet style meal of local favorites. Paul organized a small silent auction with several items of MMA memorabilia. We all had a great time visiting and reminiscing and the party broke up around 2:30 am.

During the evening, the group collected money and pledges for the Laredo-Monterrey Saber, which will provide a saber for a deserving cadet officer who can’t afford one for himself. The saber will be memorialized in Stribling Hall by a large plaque listing the donors and the recipients. If you are interested in becoming part of this endeavor, contact
LTC James Medley or
Paul Petit . A $100 contribution will get your name on the plaque.
