The Future Business Leaders of America team from Missouri Military Academy earned six top-four finishes in the FBLA District Contest held Monday in Jamestown, including two firsts.
Earning first-place finishes and advancing to state competition were the Entrepreneurship team of Gabriel Villasenor, Alex Yeakel and Matt Doughty, and senior Dennis Newman in Economics. Doughty also finished third in Introduction to Business.
Senior Anthony Wurl earned third place in Accounting I and fourth in Job Interview.
Junior Ty Armer completed MMA leaders with a third-place finish in Business Law.
“I am very pleased with the results of the competition. This is our first year for FBLA, and it has been a valuable experience for all of us,” said business and math instructor Maj. Peggy Reynard, who sponsors the MMA club.
“This reflects well on our academics and the caliber of young men we have at MMA,” said Dean of Academics Lt. Col. Frank Giuseffi. “We are proud of their performance.”
