FBLA Team headed to State
The FBLA District winners who will compete at the state level in April.


Three individuals and two teams from Missouri Military Academy advanced to state Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) competition after district results were released in Sturgeon on Friday afternoon, according to MMA sponsor MAJ Peggy Reynard.

The MMA global business team of Steve Ortega '11, Jared Roberts '12 and Ziqing Zeng '12 won its division, as did the management decision-making team of Ernesto Cepeda '12, Edgar Rodriguez '11 and Ramon Rodriguez '12.

Senior Martin Michael '11 won in the public speaking II category to earn a state berth.

Also going on to state competition are Matt Reindel '11, who finished second in business law, and Xiao (Neal) Chang '11, who was second in economics.

The MMA business ethics team of Ortega, Cameron Stock '11 and Michael finished second, but will not advance.

Chang finished third in business law, and Roberts was third in hospitality management. Chang was also seventh in business calculations.

Fourth-place finishes in the district were earned by Alan Ramos '11 in economics and Roberts in sports management.  Roberts also placed tenth in accounting I and Thomas Abraham '12 was ninth in personal finance.

“We had a great day, and the cadets represented themselves and the school very well,” said MAJ Reynard.
