Missouri Military Academy boasts one of the largest Boy/Cub Scout troops in the state of Missouri. Members of MMA's Troop 39 can remain dual-registered with troops in their hometowns, ensuring continuity between programs. This system also allows young men to stay connected with their friends back home, and participate in BSA events during the summer.
Weekly Scout meetings are held separately for high school and middle school cadets, to better focus on each age group's distinct goals. High school participants have the opportunity to volunteer their time to mentor younger Scouts as they progress toward promotions. On average, Troop 39 produces an Eagle Scout each year, an honor which the Academy proudly shares with those cadets' hometown troops.
Scouts quickly discover the benefits of having MMA's 288-acre campus at their disposal. From fishing and boating on the school's private lake to campouts in its wooded wilderness area, there is plenty of room for Scouts to learn about the great outdoors and work on merit badge projects. Experienced Scoutmasters give each boy their full attention as they conduct fun and structured activities in an exciting environment.
Troop 39 is a member of the Great Rivers Council and the Grand Prairie District.
